11/28 BigDig: MagicalCrops recipes & UE blues

A few more quick visits, making a new video series.  But instead of thinking industry, I'm getting lots of ores but finding more crops and weird stuff to grow.  From MagicalCrops mod:

9 new "normal" crops:
blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, cucumber, chili, grape, melon, sweetcorn, tomato.

I will abbreviate Magic Essence as ME:
Essence Ore and mob kills will drop WeakME pellets.
9 WeakME = RegularME
4 RegularME around WeakME = StrongME  (so 1 StrongME costs 37 WeakME)
4 StrongME around RegularME = ExtremeME  (so I ExtremeME costs 37x4+9 = 157 WeakME)

What's this studd used for?
9 WeakME around Coal = 4 CoalSeeds??
    plant the coal seeds, produces CoalEssence, may also drop a WeakME or NatureEssence
    8 CoalEssence (empty center) = 12 Coal!
4 RegularME around redstone, glowstone dust, obsidian, gunpowder, ink sac to get 4 redstone, glowstone, obsidian, explosive,

dye seeds.
8 RegularME around copper or tin to get 4 copper or tin seeds.
4 StrongeME around iron, gold, blaze rod, lapis, ender pearl, netherrack to get iron, gold, blaze, lapis, nether seeds.
Bone StrongME Gunp / StrongME endP StrongME / Arrow StrongME Flesh = 4 Experience Seeds.

The next tier uses 4 ExtremeME to make diamond, emerald.

A weird series uses the recipe:
X StrongME X / StrongME seeds StrongME / X StrongME X to make Soul Seeds:
X = leather -> 2 cow seeds
X = gunpowder -> 2 creeper seeds
X = ghast tears -> 2 ghast seeds
X = MagmaCream -> 2 magma seeds
X = bone -> 2 skeleton seeds
X = slime -> 2 slime seeds
X = spiderEye -> 2 spider seeds
These are supposed to grow or "trap" mobs for harvesting.  But those 4 StrongME cost 148 WeakME.

And any 3x3 assortment of mob essences will produce 3 BottleOfEnchanting.

I think NEI shows that Passive or Hostile Soul Essences is used in these recipes, so there may be a few versions out there.

There's an infused diamond armor, and some stones (water breathing, jump, all damage, invisibility), obsidian skull, scroll of  life, miner's dream, mystical hoe (harvests 2x2 area, 2x durbability of diamond, but expensive to make).  Some blocks: essence bricks, hardened wool, infused planks, poison blocl, healing block.

And yes, the cute zombie farmer was added by the MagicalCrops mod.  I guess that's what players turn into after trying to figure it all out.

The Artifice mod adds basalt and marble, plus those 4 tiers of frames, blast walls and glass walls, sledges, steel, 5 flowers (orchid, iris, bluebell, lotus, lotus lily), a few other things.

Mekanism mod (UniversalElectricity) adds armor and tools made of obsidian, osmium, steel, lapis, bronze, glowstone.  As I recall they have a special machine for compacting glowstone and obsidian into ingots.  The UE stuff just seems bothersome and complex to make.  I don't know if it has improved any in the past 6 months since I last tried to use it.  Looks about the same.  Some abbreviations: EA = enriched alloy (2 Cu/Sn dust around iron ingot = 4 enriched iron, smelt it for enriched alloy); ET = energy tablet (RS Au RS / EA RS EA / RA Au RS).  Your few choices for power are: Hydrogen Generator with Electrolytic Separator; Heat Generator over lava which may randomly start fires; and Solar Generator which needs 3 solar panels (3 glassPanes / RS EA RS / Os EnergyTablet Os), 2 EA, iron ingot, 2 platinum dust and an ET.  Argh.
