Quickhaven logs 5/7 to 5/9

5/7 check in at 11pm.  Crystalline iron done.
00:16 - long run in main tunnel, pop out at Autumn Village, grab samples of various tree saplings & leaves for my future tree collection.  Extend tunnel as far as I could, but ran out of juice still 300m from that furthest village.  Check biomes along the way -- need Extreme Hills to stock up on emeralds to make gregTech stuff -- nothing but Jungles, Rainforest, Extreme Jungles, Snowy Rainforest, Redwoods, yuck.  Came back with booty from tunneling: ores: 26 Sn, 47 coal, 28 Fe, 45 Nik (pulv for 4 bonus diamond dust), 21 RS, 27 Al, 4 Ag, 3 Pb, 1 W, 2 Au, 25 Cu, 8 quartz.  20 tin ore in Grinder -> 25 gravel -> 35 chunks -> 51 crystals (only 2.5X, not great yield, the trick is to get good % on the first steps).

Look at the Implosion Compressor again, need 8 standard casings (6 RI, MB, 2 EC each) and 18 reinforced casings.  Make 96 electrum for circuits and machines.  Turns out I have a lot of gold (about 100 dusts & ingots) but very little silver or lead.  Funny, the powered furnace puts out one type of electrum ingot, the induction smelter puts out the other, from the same mod.  I haven't see any of those jumbo silver veins that Factorization used to add to the world (to make all those little solar mirrors).  Low on Cu wire, run 16 ingots thru the wiremill ... 48 wire.  For electronic circuits I have chest + xy Fabricator, pretty must instant goods as soon as materials are added.  poof, 20 new circuits.  3 machine blocks.  Add blueprint for standard and reinforced casings, I'm tired of looking them up.  Okay, 8 standard casings done.  8 advanced circuits.  Oops, out of steel (and super low on lapis).  Railcraft blast furnace takes about 45 seconds each - Industrial Blast Furnace uses 1 refined iron + 2 coal dust to make one steel (and 2 dark ashes, whatever those are) every 25 sec -- yes it costs 64kEU each, but my MFSU is topping off again uanyway.  Just for laughs, it's the OTHER kind of steel ingot.  Forge Lexicon to the rescue again.  While I was in there, the coke oven takes about 2-1/2 minutes for each coal (4k EU) to coal coke (16k EU) conversion, and each makes 0.5b of creosote oil (1500 EU).  I forgot the coke oven can also turn logs (750 EU) into charcoal (4k EU).  01:28 - made 16 reinforced casings, for 19 total, enough for the new machine.  Now I'm sure the main machine will be a pain to make ... not soooo horrible, just 4 advanced alloy, 2 adv machine blocks, 2 electronic circuits and a compressor.  Will have that tomorrow, but of course I have no TNT yet!

Okay, scrounge up 22 more lapis and put in IC2 lab dusts chest (total 37).  make 2 generators, 2 new solar panels -- they're pretty easy NOW that I built that whole friggin infrastructure to make the silicon plate.  Setup an industrial TNT automat below IC2 lab: Coal dust + 2 saltpeter dust + sulfur dust -> 3 gunpowder; the usual 4 sand + 5 gunpowder = TNT; and then 3 TNT + 6 flint dust -> 5 iTNT.  Darn, flint macerates into 2 tiny piles of flint dust, will take a while to get a good supply.  Okay, with pulverizer you sometimes get a little extra, and I can pulverize stacks of gravel to get flint ... run 40 gravel and 19 flint, get 31 flint dust, run first batch of 20 iTNT.  Upstairs, factor 30 iron ore  = 38 gravel -> 53 chunks -> _ crystals.

Quick connect basements of ore lab and railcraft lab to main tunnel.  Town lava tank at 231K, biomass tank at 24K.  MFSU at 9.3M.  Out of biomass/lava up there but sun came up, solars should kick in.  Done for night.

5/8

After Supernatural and work emails, 11:20pm.  78 iron in crystallizers.  00:03 - chop down a redwood, get 64x7+44 leaves (61 plantballs), 64x3+32 logs, 59 saplings.  Biomass before at 23,800 ... after plantballs & saplings at 98,300 so one redwood supplied 74.5 buckets of biomass.

MFSU at 8.2M, just reach out the window, grab lava cans from the big tank out there, back up & running in no time.

01:23 - finish that tunnel to distant village (Auckland), last 340 blocks and meet up with stairs under my house there.  Also a quick trip down to level 10 under Extreme Jungle, curious if any emeralds are down there.  Didn't find any.  Long trip, lots of ores: 10 Nik, 21 Cu, 22 Coal, 65 Fe, 6 Sn, 5 Pb, 6 Cinnabar, 6 Ferrous, 3 U, 12 Ag, 6 Galena, 6 Au, 27 RS, 50 Al, 1 W.  gems: 7 grn sapphire, 8 sapphire, 2 amber; xy: 27 red, 64 green, 57 blue, 11 light, 17 dark.  Grabbed 64 oil from the xy tank there -- drill bit just missed the deeper pocket, will have to move it sometime.

IC2 lab: make 5 machine blocks -> 2 compressors -> recycler & implosion compressor.  MFSU at 8.1M after I recharge my gear.  My Fortune II diamond pick is at about 50%, from now on save it for just gems.

02:02 - Setup implosion compressor on roof.  Big warning I wrote on a scrap of paper - this is a LOW voltage machine, don't blow it up.  Done, ready for action.  Only 9 recipes, the key one is for iridium plate, which is now a long nutty process: compress Iridium blobs to ingots, 4 iridium ingots + 4 advanced alloy around diamond dust in rolling machine, to get one Iridium Alloy Ingot; one of those plus 8 industrial TNT in the implosion compressor = 1 iridium plate.  Yikes.  It took me all this game time so far to get just 7 iridium.  Admin says he configured GregTech to allow the old mass fabricator, but its recipe is still inaccessible, so no sensible way to make more iridium though Shiny metal or Platinum dust in IndCent can give one Iridium nugget at a time, but that stuff is also super rare.  Made 28 bronze, 27 invar for new batch of advanced alloy.  Someone took my recipe out of my rolling machine.  Pretty sure I was using invar over bronze over zinc for 4 mixed ingots each - good yield without using any rare items.  Okay, roll one Iridium Alloy ingot, then 12 mixed metal.  Grab 8 iTNT, run up to roof to test out machine ... poof, my first iridium plate.  The Imposion Compressor could use a little explosive sound effect but otherwise works as expected.

Pulverized 64 flint, got 2x64+6 tiny piles, 33-1/2 flint dust.  Run 30 gravel + 15 flint for 28 more flint dust.  Stock up the iTNT automat, make 10 new iTNT, but keep running out of saltpeter -- one good source of materials for this is the 16 cracked sand in IndCent recipe, gives 8 saltpeter dust, 10 sand (both good for iTNT works), and an unwieldy 25k fuel can.  Oh well, I threw a standard generator upstairs to put that energy back into the system.  Other recipe is in the IndCent: 16 soul sand + empty can = oil cell (64k EU), 4 saltpeter dust, 10 sand, 1 coal dust.  Could also use 2 niter instead of saltpeter to make the gunpowder, and I have been picturing a loop of sand -> sandstone -> pulverizer to make niter.

Done for night.

5/9

After Elementary and a little programming work.  23:46.  MFSU at 7.8M, get lava going again -- need to move this out over the lava tank at some point.

00:05 - big land grab to east of town, fence in about a 40x40 block, level some of the sand hill back there (super quick with mining laser), stash 4x64+54 sand, 65 sandstone.  Moved the magma crucible (plus its two biogas engines and liquid transposer to send biomass to the engines) to top of big lava tank.  Lava tank at 208k.  Flip the switch, warming up.  Drop 64+27 rubber in ore lab furnace, for raw plastic -- I want to try out a few more Minefactory machines.

00:25 - rubber run, whack my 10 rubber trees, replant; got 62 rubber wood, 62 rubber drops, 2 leftover saplings.  Run 64 rubber wood (had a few stashed in chest) in IndCent, got: 32 resin, 24 plantballs, 4 CH4 cells, 16 C cells.  Used minium stone on my last 2 blaze powder -- from those little desert flowers that are now all gone -- to make a blaze rod, then made a brewing stand (finally).  Run some Na cells and H cells upstairs for power, and to free up some empty cells.  Lava tank at 224k, pull out 10 cans to burn in thermal generator.

00:46 - run fresh batch of invar, roll out 20 mixed metals for advanced alloy.  On past servers I had all this stuff automated, but there are now so many alternate recipes and options, and way more items than we could ever sensibly sort automatically.  Lava tank 230k (grab 26), MFSU 9.1M.

00:55 - made 9 factory machine blocks (Minefactory mod).

01:19 - setup a simple Minefactory Harvester; plant a tree in 3x3 space in front of it, it chops all leaves then all wood, stashes it in adjoining chest.  Nice & quick.  Can turn leaf gathering on or off in UI.  No saplings, though?  Took 5 saplings, got 26 wood and 3x64+35 leaves in no time.  Powered by semifluid generator.  will build other gadgets in this new east end open space.  Tall fir trees are a bit of a problem, it only gets the bottom 16 wood, an 64+56 wood.  guess it has a height limit.  Sure works nicely with rubber tree saplings ... which I have a whole stack of!  Might as well time it.  From planting to hit with bonemeal to totally cut down = 40 seconds.  It left a ring of leaves around the bottom for the Minefactory rubber trees (odd, it's his own mod!), but did pick up some saplings.  Got 62 wood, 62 rubber drops, 7 saplings and gobs of useless leaves in about 4 minutes.  Power-wise, harvesting 10 trees took about 4 cans of oil (120k EU).  Oddly, the leaves don't all stack, some have a metadata value of 8, the rest have no extra value.  Run rubber logs thru Sawmill, got heaps of wood plus 29 resin.  Leaves made 52 plantballs.  Good haul.  Sure beats going out into the wild and messing up forests while dodging arrows and creepers.  It also slowly filling some tanks with sludge.  Yum.

Hook up recycler in IC2 lab (near batbox for now), start getting rid of the heaps of uncraftable leaves.  Add 2 electric furnaces while I'm at it.  Got quite a stack of machines now.  No specific processes, just make what I need when I need it.

02:10 - Hah.  I tested out the old recipe for Mass Fabricator -- it showed no product in the crafted item slot, but when I click there anyway, it pulls out ... a Mass Fabricator!!  Grab 36 lava cans (232k left in tank) and 5 CH4 cells.  I have the Mass Fab hooked up to LV for now, I should be able to cover that power drain, but holy cow when I tried it on MV in the previous world it tore through millions of EU in just a few minutes.  Looks like forcicium is now an amplifier?  let me check that out.  I have lots of unwanted monazit ore in ore lab, pulverize 19, for 64x2+24 forcicium.  Yup, amplifier of 5000.  Got my first UU-Matter of this world.  At LV, with constant amplifier (about 34 scrap or forcicium, as advertised), it takes about 4:20 per UU.  Sure enough, tungsten dust is an amplifier of 50,000 ... so each of those gets a UU about 32% done.  Testing the super rare thorium dust next -- amplifier of 500,000, will get 3-1/2 UU matter done, I'm not planning a nuclear reactor so I really don't need the stuff.  Still takes 4:20 each, but it's fun to experiment.

02:30 - ran 9 rubber saplings thru the Harvester, got 8x64+50 leaves to recycle, plus 55 logs and 55 rubber drops.  Back to IC2 lab, 2 more UU done (5 total), MFSU stable at 9.4M.

02:42 - run to sawmill to hack up the rubber logs, got 22 resin.  Well stocked up on rubber now: barrels overhead in IC2 lab have 433 rubber and 202 rubber mats.  MFSU at 9.2M.  Lava and solar can just about keep up with mass fab & recycler running full-time (24+2x4 EU/t), but throw 15 oil cells in semifluid gen for an extra 8 EU/t.  32 scrap done while burning thru the forcicium stacks.  8 UU done.  Flip switch, shut it for the night.  Need some sleep.  (But if I go to bed too early I just toss & turn, so this is about optimum exhaustion right now.)
