10/14 FTB Unleashed - worktable, desert run

PG IAxe PG / Gl SC Gl / PG Gl PG (PG = proven gear, SC = sturdy casing) = Lumbermill, has that forestry look but not mentioned in their wiki
But what's a proven gear??  4 impregnated sticks.  Darn, that requires a carpenter and seed oil, BUT they can now be made with creosote oil.  Thanks.

Fun new item, clockwork engine: 3 Wood over glass over Copper Gear, Piston, Clock.  You r-click it to wind it up then it slowly runs down again.  With about 10 clicks it can run a sawmill for about 10 blocks or recharge it about 20% in 8 seconds.

And the new Worktable works like a charm.  It's like a Project Table that remembers 8 recipes.  So the one in the Thermal Expansion lab now knows Sturdy Casing, Machine Frame and Machine Block.  I can build items from inventory or r-click an old recipe to bring it right back into the template area.  Real time-saver.  I made 2 sqeeuzers, will build a Squeeze Lab under the sawmill.  I will need to run out to the desert for a fresh stock of sand, for glass, for glass tanks and such.

Desert run.  USed up a force mitt for 2x64+30 sand (just testing its durability) and some cactus.  Other test: foce mitts don't work on ore gravels, you still need a shovel for those.  Whacked a few cows because they're always blocking the road.  And tested whether you can r-click an oil flow with one of those new round barrels to pick up liquid, NO.  And the new round barrel cannot be placed in the world like tank blocks or Factorization barrels.  THey're still cool as a compact liquid storage you can just drop into an engine or machine.

... after dinner ...

I think those Worktables can replace my old hallways full of recipes, where I used to have whole rooms full of autocrafting tables (back before those got nerfed) with one recipe each.  I can picture having a Worktable with recipes for all gears, another for all the forestry machine, etc.  Just keep em stocked, pick the recipe and click to make stuff.  Subtle difference but a huge timesaver.

I made a force infuser by placing an obsidian block and r-clicking it with force rod.  It then need an Upgrade Tome, which you get by dropping a book on the ground and r-clicking it with force rod.  I hooked up a clockwork engine to the force infuser -- it has a nice big MJ display so I could play around.  Whacking the clockwork engine about 5 times produced 1400 MJ of power.  10 whacks turns the engine core yellow and it gives about 40 MJ per second.  Not bad for a wind-up toy!  I really like these, you can get some power when you need it, no fuel needed, and you know it won't keep running for an hour and burn up all your fuel when you leave town.

Force flasks are super easy to make as well, just 4 glass around a force nugget and you get 8 of them!  Time to go wrangle some livestock.  I will use the northern plain as a holding pen for now.
Well, the force flasks won't pick up cows ... they're invisible in my hand (except on other F5 views) and l-click just whacks the cow, r-click does nothing.

Doesn't work on sheep or pigs either.  ALso can't craft the Book of Mudora (DartCraft encyclopedia) as explained on their forum home page.

Okay, FTB Unleashed is using a super old version of DartCraft (0.1.18), the mod is actually up to 0.2.10, and his changelog mentions about 80 changes.  Oh well, what works is good, but most of the mod is missing.  OKay, 0.2+ is for MC 1.6.2.  DArn, always behind on something.
