FTB Ultimate 7/21-24 - Twilight Forest romps
FTB Ultimate world 7/21
Long dull day, while everyone else was down at Comic-Con. Anyway, I did some exploring out by the ghast tower I found. I made a bunch of link books to and from those distant areas, and one to the labyrinth. I made a bridge across to top of dark forest, inspected the ghast tower from the base. Well designed, with some mini ghasts flying way up high -- I couldn't hit them with arrows, they just fell back to earth, but they didn't seem to know I was there either. Anyway, book link setup in nearby druid hut for return visit.
I found another druid hut and grabbed the skeleton druid in my safari net ... when I got him home he only drops bones and torchberries. Still, I like to experiment with every mob. One druid spawned outside my grinder room, but was easily knocked out. Further exploration in Twilight found a volcano; of course it killed all trees in the area so I ran around collecting all the saplings and apples, then oddly one side of the volcano had drops of beef and leather. I made a quick lair and link book inside nearby massive tree. A neat spot to revisit sometime.

Major exploration in Twilight Forest, ran about 1200m looking for new landmarks. Found Hollow Hill #2, then found and booklinked Maze Clearing (a clearing with a ruin that I patched up, and a cave with a piece of labyrinth showing), and Hollow Hill #3.
Mining run in overworld, dug down across from stairs leading up to Thaum Treehouse, almost immediately hit a vast cavern. A bit further down the hallway, hung a left, chose random spot to ream downward with mining laser, found a big chasm. Spoils: lots of xy & shards, then ores (2 sapphire, 48 Sn, 52 Fe, 5 cinnabar, 30 Cu, 23 Al, 24 Ag, 8 Pb, 12 coal), gems (7 ruby, 7 sapphire, 2 grn sapphires, 9 quartz, 23 quartz dust ... using my fortune II pick instead of grinding to dusts). Repair diamond Fortune II pick on uncrafting table for 14 levels, 12 levels left. Good haul!
Replaced the depleted redstone energy cell at multifarm.
Planning a possible video game night with Faucher tomorrow or friday, so I've marked lots of cool encounter areas on various worlds and modpacks.
