Quickhaven 6/8 - oil, plates, CaCO3
After dinner. In the mood for some building. Built a new sawmill house next to the multifarm, empty but available, need to figure out a good way to power it. Extended fences in that area out around the new building and around my few IC2 rubber trees. Hack the IC2 rubber tree with no tap spots, plant two new ones. Then drop off some metals and saplings at Thaum Treehouse. Make a drop run in town and go plant trees in my arboretum, with signs on each one identifying the species. ;-)
Town oil tank at 580b; biomass tank at 716 out of 720mB, essentially full. Railcraft roof MFE empty, I should probably disconnect it from the power grid, let it fill, then hook it up again when it has something to offer. Drop 16 coal in coke oven. Downstairs the redstone energy cell is empty again -- I haven't been making any rails, but the rock crusher is a power hog. Run some rubber/resin/wood and check some new recipes: osmium, thorium ingot, plasma generator. Run 64 marble dust. Recharge mining laser -- still need diamonds. Quick mining run: ores: 11 Al, 18 RS, 2 grn sapphire, 4 Au, 5 Sn, 51 coal, 2 quartz, 20 Fe, 1 cinnabar, 12 Nik; and a few gems.
11pm. Did some scattered work on my own game projects. HTML5 apps, but really have no graphics. One is meant to be a simple thing like the Little Alchemy program, but without the retarded "four elements" as a basis. Damn, that was old and lame 2,500 years ago, when Aristotle was talking blindly about the world, and it just keeps getting repeated by every dumb show about witchcraft or magic ... just give it a rest already!
23:04 - Pulv 12 Nik (no diamond dust), grind 50 coal ore (176 coal). Grind 12 tin ore = 24 gravel -> 25 chunks (23:12 wow horrible output this time around) -> _ crystals. 23:33 - finally built a little sand-to-niter factory: chest of sand to autocrafter (4 sand to sandstone), autarchic gate to pulverizer: sand goes back into chest #1, niter goes out other side to chest #2. I've been wanting to see how much niter comes out of this loop. The amount of sand gradually goes down. I put 4 stacks of sand into chest ... 5 niter made, 32 sandstone left (23:35) ... 7 niter made, 23 ss left (23:36) ... kinda fun to watch ... 10 niter, 12 SS left (23:37) ... the quantity being pulverized runs a neat sequence (9 10 9, 8 9 8, 7 8 7, etc) ... SS all gone and 16 niter made (23:39). Oddly, that was my ballpark guess about how much niter I'd get, about 4 per stack of sand. Not great, but it's mad science; toss 3 more stacks in there anyway. The autarchic gates are pretty darn fast, have not seen any hints of lag, and they don't render through solid rock in the distance like redstone engines do. Ended up with 28 niter from 7 stacks, still 4 niter per stack of sand.
IC2 lab: running redstone chipsets -> gates in basement. 60 Calcite dust in electrolyzer (quick reaction of 10 Cal: into 2 Ca[] and 2 C[] but wastes 3 cells each time on compressed air, empty them by hand & put em back in), just wanted to try the Ca[] + C[] = caCO3[] in chemical reactor but DUH, it's way cheaper to just add calcite to cans in the auto canner - Cal: + [] = CaCO3[]. Let's see ...
Path #1 is 10 Cal: -> 2 Ca[] + 2 C[] which becomes 4 CaCO3[] after 72,000 EU.
Path #2 is Cal: + [] = CaCO3[] in canner with a cost of just 600 EU.
Anyway, the whole point of the CaCO3 cell is: [IND BLAST] Fe ore + CaCO3[] = 3 refined iron + []. 3x output and straight to refined iron. 48 RI done, just a few seconds per ore. And 64 UU ready. AESU is down to ... believe it or not ... 100 million, even with all this activity going on. Railcraft lab: MFE at 24k, 16 coal coke done, add 64 coal.
Was reading recipes, boy a lot of machines use Refined Iron Plates now. Darn condustive pipes blew up downstairs while I was researching. But I got 6 gates an 9 autarchic gates done. Stoopid electricity! Made 3 treetaps for 8 mining pipe for 2 pumps for Vacuum Freezer, but yeah it needs a whole structue of casings to actually work. Just wanted to see its recipes. I wonder if it will let be browse them ... yup! Added all 12 recipes to my notes, but nothing I need anytime soon. 2 UU done (turn off for now), blasted 8 Si plate (mostly to empty some cells), ran 5 EC in Assembling machine then 12 BasicCircuitBoards for 12 more EC (just add 36 ICW), repaired pipes for laser downstairs. Grab the RS Energy Cell from Railcraft lab and recharge it in Liquids lab.
00:51 - Ore lab: make 16 El, 2 empty energy frames (4 El, 4 HGlass, 1 diamond each), fill them in liquid lab; make ConductanceCoils (El + 2 RS each), then filled frame + 3 El + Coil + 2 Pb = RS Energy Cell. Looking at the Tesseract Frame, it's pretty much the same process, just Sn instead of El. So they're actually cheaper? Anyway, I'm just about out of diamonds, but the next batch I get will go into some tesseracts, though they need to be made in pairs to be useful. In fact I should have skipped making these energy cells and just beamed the power across town to the new buildings. Oh well. Dropping 600,000 MJ at the new sawmill really should last quite a while. Can always be upgraded later. 01:06 - Dropped off the filled RS cell at Railcraft lab, rolling machines recharge but then something is slowly draining it, just a few MJ per second, still, I reversed the conduit until I need power. Railcraft MFE at 58k, 23 coke done, add 23 coal -- so yeah, creosote power is pretty much useless. 12 EC done.
01:18 - ran across to oil well out by glacier hut, it's finally finished, coughed up its last 22 cans of oil, so I broke it down and stowed the parts at my HQ for the next well I spot. 01:25 - hop out to Auckland, take tunnel to my oil well, get 59 cans and add 64 empties. Go prune the silverwood tree a bit: 64 leaves, one log, no saplings. Check the stranded-on-porch villagers, they're offering emeralds for 17 beef or 19 wheat. I have to remember to bring those next time I'm out there. Grab another 57 cans of oil, add 57 empties and warp home. Done for the night.
