4/23 FTB Unleashed
Major overhaul: I made 5 3x3x7 railcraft tanks in one of my cliffs, then emptied the oil and ethanol big tanks from up top, disassembled them and moved them into my tank farm as well. Really pretty line-up of big white tanks, used about 3 stacks of iron. I setup regular tanks with pipes and autarchic gates, so I can force wrench other tanks from anywhere in the world, bring them home, drop them on top of the connected tank, and they automatically drain into the big iron tank. Found a few lava pools right below than cliff, down at 13y, setup a pump with a biogas engine into an ender tank hooked up to my iron tank of lava. Now in the tanks: lava 392k, oil 156k, essence 78k, creosote oil 74k, ethanol 65k, biomass 44k (most of it is still up top by my IC2 farm with a small set of tanks for ethanol production). Quite a haul.
And when the lava pump had cleared out an area, I went down there, found diamond ores and ... a redstone beehive (??) that dropped Attuned bees and mundane comb.
Fun night of seeking and building.

4/25 FTB Unleashed
Did some more upgrades. Cleared out the floor that had just the assembly table and lasers, drilled it out two blocks higher and clear through to the other side of the hill. Moved my coke oven and blast furnace there, blasted enough steel to make a rock crusher (pretty much just to have a complete set of machines, no real good uses for it). Filled the lava tank at 864 buckets, so I no pump out some lava to a nearby stack of 4 magmatic engines and pump the energy upstairs to rock crusher and assembly table. Really not an impressive amount of power, just 4 MJ each. Compared to my 5 force engines with liquid force and milk putting out 50 MJ down in the town. Hmm. Will rethink, want to have one central power station putting Buildcraft energy into the energy tesseract I made, so I can tap into it from anywhere. Not so easy to do.
Moved my MFSU and Mass Fab down from the cliff top (I will use that space for Thaumcraft if I ever get around to it) down to big new building where dye shack used to be. Working on bees, no real direction, just multiplying them by hand in 8 apiaries scattered around the field and in a cave. Currently breeding purebred meadows, meadows, forest, cultivated, rocky, rocky, and mystical. Okay, it looks like the folowing are Hive Bees (found in spawned hives): Forest, Meadows, Modest, Wintry, Tropical, Marshy, Water, Rocky, Embittered (nether).
Built a carpenter, added it to the machine lineup in my bees lab, with a liquid transposer and 7 seed oil cans from IC2 farm. Made 32 impregnated sticks, setup a worktable with recipes for regular frame and impregnated frame, put my first frames in hives, see what happens. My hives:
Cultivated hive: cultivated princess and meadows drones, not sure why
Forest hive: 26 drones w 1 oblivion frame
meadows hive 5 drones 2 regular frames
meadows hive 5 drones 2 regular frames
attuned hive 14 drones 2 regular frames
rocky hive: untreated frame, 1 drone
rocky hive: untreated frame, 1 drone
Testing oblivion frame: Forest hive gives: 12:42 3 drones, 12:43 3 more, 31 total ... wiki says it shortens the lifespan to 30 seconds, looks about right.
12:46 cultivated gave 3 honey comb, 1 stringy comb; removed meadows queen who can't find flowers, add meadows princess & common drone -> meadows queen; 3 more forest drones no combs; 12:50 meadows +2 drones; meadows +2 drones; forest +3 drones, rocky +1 drone, rocky +1 rocky comb, +1 rocky princess, +1 meadows drone, mate them. Woo hoo, stringy comb gives first propolis ever, squeezing 10 drops gives another, I think I can make an apiarist pipe now. 12:55 meadows +2 comb, meadows +1 comb, forest +3 drones, experimental gave +1 comb, cultivated princess, cultivated drone, unweary drone (take for analysis: Unweary diligent drone, cultivated diligent princess, pure cultivated drone), attuned gave mundane comb, +3 drones, analyze that weird meadows queen that couldn't find flowers: she's a meadows rocky hybrid. New hive mates: Cultivated-diligent + cultivated + oblivion frame and 2 impregnated frames. 1:03 - bring signs to label the hives; forest +3 drones; meadows +2 drones + comb; meadows 2 +2 drones; attuned + mundane comb; meadows common + meadows princess+drone + common drone (mate meadows+common again); rocky +1 rocky comb; rocky meadows + meadows princess + 2 rocky drones (don't stack). Spectacles on, saw 3 hybridized leaves, got: apple oak, apple oak, common beech (new tree!). Analyze two saplings: pure silver lime, pure common beech, plant em (removed two autumn woods).
1:12 - meadows common almost ready; attuned +2 drones + mundane comb (untreated frames about half busted); cultivated diligent hive gave princess & two drones (all cultivated, analyze: cultivated diligent princess, 2 pure cultivated drones - change hive to pure mystical x pure cultivated); forest +2 drones; meadows +1 drone +2 comb; same with meadows #2 (need to replace one of these); rocky princes/drone no gain; rocky meadows made a meadows queen ho's complaining it's not bright enough (hive is in a cave).
1:21 - reset mystical cultivated hive; forest p + 3d (total 45d), meadows 1 comb, meadows #2 nothing, frames gone; attuned almost done (17d), meadows common gave common p + 2 meadows d. Hmm, finally have a common p. HEck I cheated myself some honey drops so I can analyze these, what a pain -- as I thought, it's a common meadows p, oddly a pure meadows d and a meadows common d, not sure what to do with this riff raff, throw em back in chest.
1:28 (nighttime) - Replace rocky meadows stock with valiant x cultivated = valiant queen. Complains no flowers, add some flowers. Cocoa comb almost immediately. Rocky hive: p + d + rocky comb. Meadows #2 hive: p + 3d (total 10d). Meadows: p + 2d (7d). Forest p + 3d (48d). Mystical cultivated hive: eldritch mystical princess (cool), 2 cultivated mystical d (no stack) - not sure how to purify the eldritch side, hive on hold. Attuned hive: p + 3d (20d). Meadows common hive on hold.
Hybrid leaves: apple oak, apple oak, silver birch.
1:40 - forest hive: p + 3d (50d). Meadows p + 2d (8d). Meadows2: p + 3d (12d) add impregnated frame, other frames gone. Attuned: mundane comb. Rocky: almost done. Valiant cultivated: 2 sugar (??) + 2 cocoa comb, add oblivion frame: poof I got cultivated excited p, + 2 cultivated valiant d (try cultivated/diligent x cultivated/mystical, got cultivated/diligent queen, call the hive "Cultivated DM", oops, not bright enough, move em outside). Sweet.
1:54 - Cultivated DM hive: mystical diligent princess, mystical cultivated drone, pure cultivated drone - odd, return them to lab, hive on hold. Attuned: p + 3d (22d), add oblivion and impreg frames. Forest: p + 3d (52d). Meadows: p + 2d (9d), add new impreg frame. Meadows2: p + 3d (14d) + comb. Rocky: p + d (2d) + comb, add new impreg frame.
Calling it a night. Almost makes sense now.
