5/9 - FTB Unleashed
I setup my first quarry ever ... on that always-raining dreary hostile swamp age. It was a bit of a battle at first, but I got a little area fenced off and setup the quarry with two energy cells and an item tesseract back to base. At base, I added deep storage units for cobble and dirt, hooked up by ME Storage Buses. I used a single ME Chest with 4k storage and it was able to hold everything from the first default-sized mine. For some reason, cobble and dirt stayed in the chest, but if I took it out of the ME terminal by hand and put it back, THEN it went to the deep storage units as planned. For the second, bigger quarry, I took out the 4k storage and put it in my hard drive, added a fresh 16k storage unit, which can easily handle a few thousand items.
For ores, I got: 5 Al, 8 Cin, 40 Cu, 3 ferrous, 118 Fe, 6 Pb, 19 monazit, 6 Ag, 29 Sn, also got 12 U, some other scraps.
Deep storage: 13698 cobble, 6377 dirt.
Scrap overflow: 13x64+20. Run 6 stacks in Mass Fab. Run 6 stacks as scrapboxes. Usual weird stuff, and 19 UU.
3rd quarry run almost done. I hand-click the cobble & dirt out and back in, not sure why it doesn't go to deep storage on its own. 16k storage barely 12% full, but really, there are only a few hundred blocks of any real use, in with all that cobble noise.
Pretty laggy while the quarry is running in the other dimension. Tried to go back to check its progress, got a ticking entity crash ... passive EntityBat. Really! A bat crashed it, but the quarry is fine?
Reloaded ok. Quarry looks like it's about halfway down. I will carve out a big buffer around my hut, leave my base standing on a pillar like an old Bugs Bunny cartoon. Take 64+64+50 Fe, 50 Cu to smeltery. Put 38 blocks of Fe, 9 Cu, 2 Au, 11 Sn into ME network. Looks like quarry is done, take all ores to ore lab.
Multifarm: take 4x64 force saplings ( plantballs), 128 nuggets, 188 sand. Need dirt again. 315b of liquid force.
Bees:
1. ind p + d + d + d + c.
2. common p + d, run common + ind.
3. sweetened q + 6d, 12 honey c, 2 stringy c, lots of sweetened in chest.
4. charmed[-] p + 2d (10d) + ow c.
5. diligent q + 41d.
6. just a drone, princess may have been lost due to overflowing chest.
7. maj q + 18d + 2 dripping c
8. imperial q + 26d _ 4 dripping c + 4 rj.
9. noble q + 3d + 4 dripping c, 50 d in chest.
10. unweary q + 38d, >50d in chest.
11. ind q
12. ind q
11,12 chest: almost full of drones, mostly ind. 6 stringy c, 6 pollen.
Butterfly house: 4 or 5 butterflies flying around, no sign of larva on leaves or wood.
Ran all my combs, current hoard: 44 propolis, 36 magic wax, 28 sugar, 86 cocoa, 22 snowballs, 61 pollen, 28 crystalline pollen, 50 royal jelly, in ME system: 636 honey drops, 383 honey dew, 859 wax, 255 propolis. May have enough to start on an alveary??

5/10 - FTB Unleashed
I did the major terraform project that has been bugging me for over a year -- I flattened the area around my main buildings, so now it's just one block down to the farm area, and one block up to the bee lab, not up and down hills and around trees. In the process I excavated the nether berry hut like it was an archaeological site, trashed the armory I never use and the berry house I never use. Redid the dartcraft lab in force logs and bricks, and between my main lab and bee lab there's now the outline of a much bigger lab ... with ME cable already running directly through that area. I want a new lab with about 4-6 powered furnaces and 4-6 macerator/pulverizers each. Trouble is, I like Thermal Expansion machines better, but like IC2 power better. It's a challenge to generate 80 MJ/t with my force engines, I could setup some Bio Generators at 16 MJ/t each ... but I like having 10 million EU in an MFSU and adding more hybrid solars, probably will end up using power converters down to BC power in the long run.
Looks like my quarry didn't finish any of the 3 pits it dug -- it ended at level 45 one time and level 28 the other. Have to bring it more energy cells, looks like it takes 4-5 full energy cells to do the ares I'm doing (roughly 12x24). When totally finished, they turn bedrock dark gray on the mini map.
Fun to tunnel down alongside the quarry and watch it work, it's now doing level 7. Yup, as soon as it hits bedrock it stops. I moved it to another section, almost totally surrounded my little base now. Will have to re-run the other sections, now that I know how it's supposed to work. Then I will build one little bridge across. That'll keep the mobs away! Actually, these huge empty areas might be a go/od place to line up mob spawner/grinders. Since the pits are 65 blocks deep, I can keep the top drop 15 blocks deep (mob deterrent) and still have room for 4 levels each 15 blocks high.

I shot a fun video without the mike plugged in. Duh.
Had some fun with the quarry, also lots of lag. But my hut is almost completely surrounded by quarries at this point, and I got about 500 ores.
Butterflies did finally pollinate the trees, got two new ones: alder and cherry. Also some butterflies I didn't recognize. One of my bees was causing damage as I walked by, couldn't figure out which one.
Tanks: 321b essence, 662b lava, 509b creosote, 237b ethanol, 44+65b biomass, 312b biofuel, 3 full small tanks of seed oil, 102b veggie juice, 188b fruit juice. 98 essence (xp) berries. 254 melon blocks?? Take 20, use fortune III pick = 130 melon slices. Run some stacks of saplings in fermenter (really eats up the juice supply) -- btw the MFR industrial fertilizer can be turned into foresty fertilizer, just craft by itself. Top biomass tank now at 171b. Bio-reactor still has 156 melon seeds, 127 pumpkin seeds, 74 carrots, 57 potatos ... go down to ME network, bring up a stack each of bonemeal, cactus green and ink sacs, efficiency back up to 980/1440 (7 of 9 items).
Made 64+64+58 clear glass in smeltery while hanging around. Went out to a patch of quarried stone with two mining turtles, brought home a whole chest full. Top biomass tank at 231b, biofuel 326b (I had to hook up the pipe again, right now it starves the generator if I leave it hooked up all the time). Liquid force 301b. Wool 13x64+20.
Make 2x64 plantballs from my heaps of force saplings in ME network. Get 12 barrels of creosote from tank, run them all in fermenter - should make 0.3b of biomass each, using 0.2b of creosote/whatever. Odd, 8 sugar cane (0.075 biomass each = 0.6b total) can make a plantball for just 0.3b. Skip that. Done, biomass tank 274b now (43b made from 128 plantballs, yes 0.3 each). Actually, I have 21t plantballs already in the ME network, grab em all. Note that compressing them will use 0.3b of amplifier and only make 0.375b of biomass, does not seem worth it. Now normal/forestry saplings can make 2 plantballs per 8 saplings, but each sapling uses 0.25b amplifier for 0.375b biomass. Run 64 more saplings, call it a night.
Oh hey, I found my old apiarist backpack in the sugar cane overflow chest. Of all places to leave it!
Biomass 376b (I made 310b in just 15 minutes), biofuel 342b.
Sleepy head.
