FTBUnleashed 5/4/15 adventures and builds
5/4 FTB Unleashed
I had some big build ideas in mind, but went on a tunnel run instead. Brought two iron chests and a force wrench, pretty massive portable storage. Ended up with 64+51 stone, 9x64 cobble, 152 coal ore, 33 red ore, 4 lap ore, 10 diamond ore, 128+38 dirt, 58 gravel, 3 Au ore, 2 Pb ore, 3x64+41 Fe ore, 51 Cu ore, 56 Sn ore, 17 coal, 9 flint, 10 monazit, 2 Al ore, 4 cinnabar, 48 quartzm 32 quartz dust, 43 force gems, 2 rocky bees, some oreberries, 3 uranium. And a spoils bag: 3 claws, 2 cocoa, steel helmet, force bucket, single-use safari net. And 4 royal jelly from my bee ladies on the way home.
Big project: moved my power station from 2nd floor of sawmill to joined basement. Realigned the engines, run them into an array of 4 energy cells, added wired modems and network cables from energy cells to a computer, and downloaded the pastebin script that Hypno posted here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZPJd3SC3FQ
Sure enough, the computer stays on, monitors the power of the 4 energy cells, and if the average energy stored goes under 50%, it will turn on the force engines. Wow. Thanks, Hypno. Also added a force infuser (place obsidian block, r-click with force rod), so I can drop useless force shards in there and pump out a bucket of force for each one. Hypno did a pretty extensive test showing that you can't pump anything into the infuser with pipes, but you can pull out the liquid force. Cool little extra boost for an otherwise totally useless byproduct. Anyway, the squeezer right next to it sometimes generates force shards when processing force gems, so there you go.
Tree multifarm, gold chest overflowed again. Energy cell at 70k, almost depleted, replace it. 3x64+20 wool. 64+60 force logs. Pulled out 8 stacks of saplings, added hoppers to the mostly inactive generators receiving cactus and sugar coke. Scrap overflow chest: 11 stacks. Aw heck, for fun I made 28 scrap boxes and clicked them onto an obsidian pipe going into a chest, got: filled tin can, 4 grass, soul sand, 3 wax capsules, single-use battery, 2 sticks, 2 force shards, 2 dirt, wooden sword, gravel, leather, tin ore, egg, gunpowder, slimeball, force ore, sign. Funny batch, some of it useful, and right next to the generators where I burn random junk. ;-) 14 more scrap boxes: 2 wooden tools, 2 sticks, another food can, plantball, refractory capsule, steak, copper dust.

Multifarm: 70 force logs, 11 force nuggets; I had to fill all sapling slots with force saplings, otherwise it just kept running apple oak.
Made 3 cyclic assemblers (thermal expansion) on a worktable, made a batch of schematics (3 paper and a lapis each). Want to try these autocrafters out. Wow, they're just about instant! 20 MEBP & 5 storage cells in no time, 3 storage segments fairly soon after, quite a bit of fussing to keep the items in stock, though. Finished storage block and 16k storage on worktables upstairs (seems faster actually), added to ME disk drive, since I had one 4k storage filled, one at 25%, one empty, get the 16K ready, since I plan to use the ME system a lot more. Clearly, the cyclic assemblers are good for things you have a whole lot of, where you can pump in a steady supply of items. Like my silly cobblestone compressing line, which has given me 18 double compressed and 3 triple compressed -- I fill the source chest by hand every now and then. A steady supply from a quarry or whatever would be perfect for a cyclic assmbler (like Hypno did in his insane cobble farm episode).
Starting on Molecular Assembly Chamber. Will try for a 4x4. Looks like that will need about 40 containment walls, 4x6 heat vents, and 4 internal components. Made 18 walls. Wow, at 4 gold and 4 iron and a quartz crystal each, this is an investment.
Added a brick & decorative blocks lab next to the bee lab, really need to spice up the town a bit. Tired of the same dull stones.
Multifarm at 493K, some drops on ground though chest not overflowing. Running only force trees, grabbed 2x64+48 force logs, 28 force nuggets, 3x64+47 wool too.
30 containment walls. Run a stack of iron ore for heat vents (each is 4 iron, 4 iron gates, and an ME cable). 36 walls. 38. 40. Whole stacks of metals here. 13 heat vents. Make more ME cable. 16, out of iron bars. 24 heat vents, and the iron is gone. Start building the frame of the Molecular Assembly CHamber ... looks like I only needed 32 walls, 24 heat vents was correct. There's room for 8 components on the inside, the choice is: ME Crafting Processors for speed, and ME Pattern Providers to store the most recipes. I'm thinking 3 CPUs, 5 pattern providers, more expensive recipes. I've never built one of these before! 3 crafting CPUs done. Eek, the pattern providers each have advanced processors, 2 conversion matrix and a storage cell. Even with worktable recipes for those, they're a pain. Load up the worktable, 10 conversion matrices. 2 storage segments left over from cyclic assembler test, make 3 more. Ok, so I cheated myself a few ME Cables and a Pattern Encoder, it's on the roof, looking spiffy, and ready to roll. Need to macerate some glowstone for blank patterns now.
Dang those patterns are expensive: 4 quartz glass (5 quartz dust, 4 glass each), plus quartz, 2 glowstone dust, 3 more iron (which I'm out of). Getting late, this took over an hour to build, gimme a few blank patterns for testing. Hmm, at least the pattern encoder takes no power. I setup a recipe for a storage cell, poof, it works. AE System now uses 27 units/tick of power, still not much, but I hear that each crafting in the MAC takes some juice.
Made my first road blocks and paved stone bricks, tweaking some buildings and roads.

5/5 FTB Unleashed
I got so tired of pulverizing and smelting, over and over, to make that MAC last night, I took some time to automate my smeltery. Although you CAN pump in items directly into the controller, it has limited and specific storage: 27 slots. So I r-click 27 ingots at a time. I pump out molten metal using buildcraft pipes, from one of the drains, pump it into a casting basin, which smelts blocks, and a hopper underneath the basin pulls out the solid metal blocks into a chest. SImple and quiet and it does not use power, just a little lava. And it does whole blocks at a time, still doubling my overall ores. I got 77 blocks of coper, 51 blocks of iron, 6 blocks of gold ... all to be dropped into my ME Network. Set on metals for a while. ;-)
I may setup a turtle and program it to drop 27 items and wait 40 seconds, etc.
Took about 10 stacks of slimes and 7 stacks of magma cream from grinder chest to ME network, which now shows 803 slimes, 448 magma cream. And 52 UU matter, plus the 82 UU on my hybrid solar workbench.
Steel armor can't be recycled in the smeltery, but can be turned back into ingots in the blast furnace ... very slowly!
Pretty good horde.
... break ...
Wrote a super simple turtle program to drop 27 blocks in smeltery and wait 40 seconds. As long as the ore type doesn't change, actually the quantity doesn't matter, but there are 27 slots, so that's the max.

Not thrilled with any of my hybrids, odds are against getting pure strains out of them, it seems. Almost all my cultivated bees are hybrids, due to running them over and over with other breeds. Throw my empty "cultivated species" serum in the synthesizer, get some doses, need to purify some of these guys. Get 3 charges (average), inoculate a cult/charmed drone. Oops, used my bleached species serum, got a bleached/charmed[-] drone ... poor guy, run through isolator for maybe one good trait ... got "both 2 temp tol" serum, which sounds pretty good, and the little guy went away. Got the right serum, 3 charges (poor), purify to good quality. Inoculate a cult/valiant drone, pure (shortest fast 2x); run a cult/meadows, pure (shorter slower 2x); run a cult/wintry drone, pure (short slower 2x); run a cult/sorc princess, pure (shorter slower 2x, temp tol down_2, humid tol down_1).
1. bleached p + 3d + honey c. wasn't producing before because oblivion frame was shortening their lifespan.

My cult* princesses became cult/dil hybrid again. Inoculate, got cult* (shorter slower x2 temp up_1 hum down_1) and cult* (shorter fast 2x reeds).
3. take out unusual q + 11d, run cult* (reeds) and dil* (reeds). Add my last fresh oblivion frame.
10. run cult* + dil* again.
Over at smeltery, with turtle loading iron ore, got 117 iron blocks.
3. got an unweary/dil drone. Run with cult/dil p. Long shot.
10. unweary/dil princess ... should have kept that unweary/dil drone, huh. ok, had an unweary/dil in my lab. Fingers crossed.
3. unweary/dil p + d who like reeds, run em again.
10. unweary* princess (++) and unweary/dil d + d. Wait on #3 hive ... unweary* p + d + d. We're cooking now! Two pure unweary pairs. Run in #3 and #10.
From centrifuge: 34 honeydew, 46 honey drop, 33 wqx, 19 propolis, 1 magic wax, 1 crystalline pollen, 2 snowballs.
1. replace bleached q + 10d with diligent/wintry + unweary*.
Not much happening in snowy lab.
Desert: take sorcerous 43d from D2 and 42d from D3. D4 gave 8 parched c.
3. 13 unweary/- d in chest, plus two unweary/dil d.
Multifarm was out of dirt, all turned to sand. Added dirt, came back with sand and 12 stacks of oak logs (put in ME network). Smeltery: 64+64+25 blocks of iron, turtle still loading, had run out of lava. Grab backpack, clear out bee chests, had stashed a lot in there, r-click them all into indexer. Need to setup a chest where I line up breeding pairs for future use.
Run unweary drone in isolator, would like a species serum so I can make some more unweary princesses from lost hybrids. Flower pollination serum, recycle. Normal fertility serum, recycle. Slowest flowering, recycle. Shortened lifespan serum, recycle. Short lifespan serum, not bad, there are two levels worse than that and they're pretty widespread. No humid tol serum, recycle. Shortened lifespan again, and the 3rd bee died. Grab two more unweary drones. Unweary species serum, got it. Add 4 charges, purify to good. Take a meadows/rocky queen, inoculate twice ... first time failed, second time both lineages changed, got pure unweary q, but shorter slowest and 1x fertiliy. Purify my Normal Fertility serum to Good, then give the queen a shot.
Smeltery 3x64+3 iron blocks. Setup some ednermen in spawner/grinder, auto-enchanter (level 15) gave me Soul Stealer II twice. Ironic.
Run back to bee lab, inoculator almost done with 2nd dose: got x2 fertility. Good enough.
1. diligent* p + unweary/wintry d + unweary/industrious d + d. Weird. Put my new unweary q here with a diligent* drone for next generation.

7. majestic q + 42d + dripping c. take drones.
8. imperial p + d + d + 2d + dripping c.
9. noble q + 23d. chest: 2 dripping comb, bunch of leftover majestic and imperial drones (take).
10. unweary q, chest: empty. Not finding flowers. Analyze, wants reeds. Plant some reeds. Poof, new generation of unweary.
1. unweary/- p + rocky/- d + d. Weird. Run with the diligent* d. Poof. Unweary/industrious p + unweary/diligent d + rocky/- d. Run unweary/ind p with unweary/ind from other hive.
Smeltery batch done: 3x64+9 iron blocks, put in ME network. Done with iron for a while!
Multifarm, come back with 96 sand (for induction smelter), 5x64 force logs, 96 force nuggets = 10 ingots. Will probably move the squeezer and a big iron tank over next to the multifarm, since that's where all the production is. Will add a liquid tesseract to beam liquid force back to powerplant as needed.
New centrifuge batch: 9 propolis, 21 honeydrops (for beealyzer), 33 wax, 5 snowballs, 1 cryst pollen, 4 magic wax, 12 honeydew.
1. unweary/- p + d + d.
3. same
10. unweary q + 15d, 4d in chest.
Guess I won't be getting a pure industrious line tonight. Nice to have a solid unweary line finally.
Not sure which other bees are worth doing. Would like to find some steadfast bees (dungeon chests only!!) +valiant = 6% chance of heroic bees with a mob-fighting area effect. Industrious+wintry = 12% chance of icy (produces ice shards). I've still never had any marshy, watery, or jungle/tropical bees. Meadows+diligent = 12% rural (plains biome only) leads to some fun bees like caffeinated etc.
Smeltery, 24 blocks of tin. Blast furnace, hopper with steel armor: 3 chestplates (6 ingots each, even the slightly damaged one), 4 helmets (4 each), boots (3 each) -> 37 steel. Though I'm pretty sure the only uses for steel in this modpack is high speed rail and ... making armor! Checking, can also be used for: crowbar, 2 minecarts, steel weapons and tools, lots of weird things like fortron capacitor and coercion driver, railcraft switch tracks and detectors, 8 rebar (used for concrete), 32 metal posts, and ingots can be used in smeltery.
Had rock crusher running for a while. Cobble -> gravel -> sand for induction smelter, no diamonds.
Done for night.

10. unweary/dil princess ... should have kept that unweary/dil drone, huh. ok, had an unweary/dil in my lab. Fingers crossed.
3. unweary/dil p + d who like reeds, run em again.
10. unweary* princess (++) and unweary/dil d + d. Wait on #3 hive ... unweary* p + d + d. We're cooking now! Two pure unweary pairs. Run in #3 and #10.
2. eldritch p + d + c.
3. unweary q. in chest unweary/- d + d + 2 stringy c.
4. charmed[-] p + d + d, still going.
5. diligent q + 32 d. 6. unweary q. chest: 2 honey c, 2 stringy c, 1 frozen c (really, I saw it appear), 3 unweary/- and one cult/- drone.
7. majestic q + 42d + dripping c. take drones.
8. imperial p + d + d + 2d + dripping c.
9. noble q + 23d. chest: 2 dripping comb, bunch of leftover majestic and imperial drones (take).
10. unweary q, chest: empty.
