CrazyCraft on Pi Day

3/14/2021 CrazyCraft

Pi Day (3.14) today, and 7-11 was having whole pizzas for 3.14, so I got 3 for the freezer.  Gamer food for days.

There are so many subgames and different kinds of expeditions available.  I buitl two new buildings: one for barrels for wood storage and one for project benches for Better Furnaces (furnaces and those odd upgrades) and one for JABBA barrels (which also have heaps of upgrade recipes but I haven't gotten to those yet).  Flying back and forth from the main stockroom as a bat, grabbing this, grabbing that.  Then I took a hop to the Deep Dark, but I guess I never did much down there, just an insta-house and insta-farm from OreSpawn.

Random warp back to overworld, I chose "SunkShip" only to find a beaver eating all the rails of the ship.  No, eliminated.  Must have been leftover when the chunk unloaded a year or more ago, since I forbid those forest-destroying things in my world.  I flew around a bit from there, soon finding another desert with ruined buildings, a Farlander hut with angry golems, and all kinds of rocks to pick up and country prisoner to fly around a pick off.  Then there was that chainsaw sound and I had to chase another beaver through the underbrush while trees were reduced to stacks of drops.  Got the bugger.  I don't know the point of those little rocks from OreSpawn, I guess if you had no weapon at all in the irst ten minutes of the game, you could pick these up and throw them, and some of the less common ones have fire or poison effects.  I pick them up because I think their little hp indicators clutter up the view, and I have a chest to throw them in back home -- maybe some day I will sort them and see how many types there really are.

Back home, getting late, I made a little shrine to the lost boyfriends and girlfriends of the world - just a lineup of barrels to hold the shoes and game controllers.

I had only three dried easter bunny eggs left, so I put one by a duplicator tree, hydrated the other two and hit them with a zookeeper shards, so they should not despawn this time around.

I was running database queries in the background, so it wasn't much of a free-for-all fun night.  I did run the road all the way from home base to the floating city and fishing hut.  I put a soul shards pattern on the floor of tower 3 base, and framed the window in netherrack, end stone & glowstone to make it obvious it's up there.  I made a better shrine to fallen boyfriends & girlfriends (quartz pillars 1,2,3 high with the barrels for each item on top) with a little workspace for crafting pillars next to it.

If I cloes my eyes, I can think of dozens of build projects, mod-specific workshops and such, more than I could ever actually build.

Of course immibis.cfg had a config for its machine block id.  I set it to 2112 and am trying LiquidXP again.  That disenchanting chest just didn't do it.

Yup, Liquid XP mod works just fine, but the only fluid tanks in this pack is the Mariculture tank which does not join to make multi-block tanks.  At least they hold their inventory when broken, so I could fill them one at a time and make a big building out of them later on, or use them as architectural highlights.  Oh wait, there are the liquid drums from Extra Utilities.  They're not as visually cool as the big irregular tanks full of glowy goodness, but they should do the trick.

I spent some time on a project that was on the back burner for a while: warping to each page of my warp book, making a new warp page to clone a new book, so I never use it.  I did the first 8 pages (all my major Overworld places) and dropped it in an ender chest for safe keeping.  Of course, beyond the warp pages, my in-game map must have 100 actual waypoints to visit.  Amazing just how endless these worlds are.

Strange inhabitants of far-off lands

It turns out that when my big experience tree at home base was destroyed by a stray beaver, a few leaves stayed attached to the neighboring oak trees.  Just a few.  Which is why I got just a few sparkles and xp bottles at night.  I still have the full experience tree in the peaceful dimension, right next to my sorry little shack base.

I explored a bit more, out between kelp-ship and sea-base, both of which are in a sea with kelp forest; there is a water dragon spawn base, a bunch of balloons, a few other ships, and 4 floating cities out there.  I cleared a bunch of attack squid and had a kraken come out to play.  Darn balloons looked so much like the kraken I kept seeing it out of the corner of my eye.  After softening it up with the ultimate bow, I went in with the guardian sword and took care of it.  This is a very interesting area, full of mobs, little islands, girlfriends and boyfriends swimming.

Back home, I added some palm trees to the coast by the fishing hut and added a tiny house for just palm and coconut harvests and recipes.  I enclosed the little ruined fountain that my little hydrolisc liked to play in, surrounded by glass pane, and I took four spawn eggs to make a little population in there.

While checking out warps, I went to the danger dimension where I had two diamond chests of loot leftover from that mobzilla battle.  I brought those home with the dolly.  I went to the spot where the King dropped his stuff and went through those chests.  I brought home a chest with all the blood magic stuff, including a basic altar, and a big selection of rare blocks for the duplicator trees.

Villagers waiting for Mobzilla to come back.  Sucks to be them.

While the duplicator trees are obviously OP and hacky, they're not as bad as the chicken chest, which I only use very rarely for strange items.  In fact, a small colony with a dupe tree making one rare block actually functions as an industry.  I brought back some crystal wood, and have a shack just down the road which can now duplicate it even though I have not been in that dimension -- all those crystal items make interesting windows.  I also trimmed a sample experience tree leaf block and started duping it to make little two-high hedges with a log and xp tree leaves, to see if they generate any xp.  So far, no.  But duping those is interesting, because if the new block spawns not touching wood, it will despawn quickly and I have to be right there with the shears.  Some other base can dupe the ender pearl/eye blocks and just have an industry making the things the ender products can be used for.

Now that I have the two easter bunnies in zookeeper never-despawn mode, they will surely lay some of the rare crystal dimension mobs: peacock especially.  So the options for local themed zoos is another dimension (haha) of things to plan out.
