FTB game session 1/10

I'm not planning to post heaps of logs here, but some of the numbers may be of interest and I do still get "Aha!" moments you may find worthwhile.

1/10/2013

01:44 - half hour mining fest under wiz tower:
    42 coal ore :: grinder -> 162 coal = 385%  (macerate 128 to dust -> carbon plate)
    64 coal ore :: grinder -> 221 coal = 345%
    35 copper ore :: pulverizer -> 70 pulv copper + 2 pulv gold
    6 diamond ore :: grinder -> 14 diamonds = 233%
    12 gold ore :: grinder -> 14 gravel -> 18 refined chunks -> 30 cryst. gold = 250%
    57 iron ore :: ind smelter -> 114 iron (cook 64 to refined iron for 8 machine blocks) + 57 slag
    10 lead ore :: pulverizer -> 20 pulv lead
    1 lapis ore :: rock crusher -> 12 lapis
    2 monazit ore, 2 obsidian
    55 redstone ore :: rock crusher -> 550 redstone !!  Like I don't have enough yet??
    8 silver ore :: grinder -> 11 galena gravel -> 19 lead chunks + 13 silver chunks -> 30 cryst lead + 16 cryst silver  ** this is a super productive recipe, 575% this time
    125 silver ore :: pulverizer -> 250 pulv silver + 14 pulv lead
    38 tin ore :: pulverizer -> 76 pulv tin + 2 pulv iron
    3 uranium ore :: rock crusher -> 6 uranium dust

I'm not sure why processing ores is "fun".  It's a bit like logging into a game to do work.

16:10 - Craft 8 energy crystals, 100 ins Cu wire, 8 elec circuits, 4 lapotron crystals.

16:55 - Misc works, make 1 MFE, 2 lapotron crystals, 1 AMB (adv. machine block); finally: make 1 MFSU to upgrade one power grid (probably lab2).

17:20 - Clear out new work space in wiz tower, next to MFE2; get 40 coal ore in the process (Grinder -> 145 coal = 363%); transfer 200kEU to MFE1 by energy crystals.

21:00 - Made 8 overclock upgrades (which use 10k coolant cells thanks 2 gregtech), applied to various machines for speed boosts; run 16 ruby dust, 24 bauxite dust in ind. centrifuge.  Building up a stock of titanium, aluminum, chrome.  Run some more aluminum/bronze/steel => 4 mixed metal -> adv. alloy.  Funny, when I go to use a machine like the macerator, I can grab overclocks from machines I'm NOT using to speed it up.  It's the overclock shuffle.

22:30 - Run 33 silver ore in grinder -> 45 gravel -> 79(+13 later) reduced lead + 48(+10) reduced silver -> 131 cryst lead + 90 cryst silver.  Of course, I have no immediate need for lead or silver.  Stash.

00:45 - Automate the Mixer - what a pain!  Diamond pipe separates sludge, metals, empty buckets.  Endless pool + pump into liquid transposer (which needs an engine for power): send full buckets in top, output from side, gold pipes to speed buckets along.  Clean gravel goes directly into slag furnace, sludge into a chest.  Note that to run a batch of sludge->clay, I take one of the 3 water buckets out, add dirt + sludge and let it run.  To run ores, put 3 water buckets + gravel and let it go.  Much better than manual bucket brigade!

00:46 - Factorization lab:
    6 iron ore -> 8 gravel -> 10 iron chunks (00:50) = 167%
    10 tin ore -> 12 gravel (00:50) -> 15 tin chunks (00:56)  = 150%
    4 copper ore -> 6 gravel -> 8 copper chunks (00:59) = 200%
   Since crystallizers are busy, I started a new chest for chunks.  Will run them in batches when possible.

01:21 - Quick run under railcraft lab ... 6 bauxite ore, 57 coal ore, 2 copper ore*, 27 iron ore*, 8 lead ore, 6 silver ore*, 21 tin ore*
    * in rock crusher (25 MJ/t, about 3 sec each), done 01:26.  Stash.
