Prefab houses & Rainbow Slurry
260301 Overgrown 2026
We had two quick visits this weekend. On Saturday, we put down the new Prefab structures I crafted during the week. The End Outpost was an ugly brown egg-shaped thing with no entrance. Inside (spectator mode) there's an end portal with no eyes in the sockets, but yeah, there's no way in. I read in the Prefab release notes that you should be able to r-click the "phasic blocks" and they would let you through, like in the Twilight Forest castles. I even tried adding a few steps up to the side ot the thing and making my own door, but while you can see the portal above you, there are some kind of barrier blocks preventing you from getting up there. The interior is completely lined with black carpet, which is moody and keeps mobs from spawning I suppose. We could not figure this one out, but I put it just over the mountain on the road from MineColony to Albertville.
The Moderate House spawner has four designs, like I thought when we clicked through it the first time putting down the Spruce House.
We dropped the Acacia House just across the street from it -- it's another lovely design with a farm & acacia orchard, then a ground floor with a bedroom and stairs up to a loft and down to a man cave.
The Jungle House was a three-tiered tree house in the preview and we looked all over for a place to put it. Finally, on the way out of MineColony toward the Plains Tower, behind my cheap treehouse where I AFK and watch my mycelium farm, there was a tumble of boulders and small trees. With a little tinkering, the new Jungle House fit in beautifully there. We can climb the double vines up to the two decks then the main house with the balcony looking out across the town.
Finally, there was a hobbit house which has the smallest footprint, so we put it by the pond next to the mycelium farm. As you walk in, it's just a small cave with a farm, with the whole house being down in the basement.
The area around MineColony has bloomed into the largest set of structures in this world. Fun to visit, and we just walk around thinking of uses for the rooms and futrue decorative overhauls.
Today we zoomed around looking for Animania peacocks. We found one charcoal and one white. but again, almost every one out by Peacock Point is a peach fowl. We also verified that the yellow, red and blue dart frogs inflict Poison if they touch you. It makes them a bit of a challenge to collect.
Tonight, I worked on the greenhouses at Rustic, swapping out glass and glass stairs with quite clear glass using the builder's wand. Then I hopped over to MineColony and finally battled through the huge room on the bottom Nether level of the dungeon. After being stuck at my wall with endless mobs up in my face, I did do a quick fly through in creative mode to see where the spawners were -- in the main chamber with the four pits with two chests each, there are about 8 spawners in little 5x5 cubbies in the ceiling. I went and got a bucket of lava to clear most of the mobs, blocked off other entrances and punched out those spawners. Even then, it was another 20 minutes of picking off the rest. I filled two double chests at the bottom of the stairs.
My final bit for the day was to start the mineshaft down from the basement of the hobbit house ... and it came out two blocks from the steps down from the mycelium lab.
Speaking of the mycelium lab, I took off the rainbow slurry yesterday and as we left there was one mooshroom staring at us, because the blessed earth is a passive mob spawner. Tonight there are 15 blocks of blessed earth, 3 mooshrooms and 6 sheep (two of them pink) and a cow. The saw walls that keep the slurry from running off also keep the critters inside. So I guess we don't have to go searching for those in the wild anymore. I just saw two bunnies go bouncing away ...
