Mammoth Woods, Anvil Pet House

Just a quick run tonight. Spawned in one of the watch towers above Mesa Bowl Base, so I took the ladder down, then the road and tunnel across to the Mesa Bowl Dungeon Tower. Replaced the spiral stairs with freshly crafted ladders, went down to level one and cleared it. There's a fireworks base there and the weird explorer's bedroom. I went to the ends of two hallways and tunneled up to the surface -- one came out right at the shore of the river at the base of the massive mesa, and the came out at the edge of the West Clearing. From there, I made roads across the West Clearing to connect all the pieces together and flew up to the watch tower to drop off all the terracotta in the storage drawers up there.
Finally, I chilled out and watched a nice sunset.

This weekend, we had two quick trips to this world. We explored the Mesa Bowl area and I showed Anne all the new roads. We flew around the mesa tops, collecting more animals. But the animals that were so plentiful on those mountain tops when I first discovered the area were now few and far between. I suspect they mostly walked off the edges. The remaining white blips on the mini map were almost all on tiny ledges off the edge, and there were always little bits of meat and leather to be found not far off. While gathering a few, we had four zombies come marching right off the edge trying to reach me. But, we saved the ones we could save. I added three more watch towers to the mesa tops, so now we could look up from the main clearing and see all six watchtowers lit up on the hills at night.
We also stopped at Mine Colony and built a copy of the little anvil pet building from our other world. Cute little thing.
Back to the big excavation tonight, I cleared level two then went to the end of each hallway, picked the center point of each room and dug up to the surface where I put a fence post with a torch so I could see the full extent of the area occupied by the hallways. I also put the two fire mills down that I had been carrying around, over netherrack flames, and added two mechanical crafters. So I can drop off stacks of stone and cobble and have them compressed by the time I come back out with the next load.
