This mod started off smoothly, got some wood, dropped down into a hole and made a safe little hangout.  Seems like way more than the usual amount of ore in the world.  By the end of the first night I had a full set of iron armor.  Killed a spider and things got weird.  Not sure why I died, but I became a spider and couldn't get back into my hole.  I saw a gravestone down there which should have all my stuff in it??

After some research it turns out that the Morph mod is what changed me into a spider.  I went to Morph.cfg and changed I:instaMorph=0 so I don't automatically morph upon acquiring a new body type (by killing a new mob).  Use [ key to change back to self.  Chased by baby zombie.  Broke the grave & got my stuff back.

Definitely more ore: a single new vein had 55 Fe, 18 Cu, 5 quantum dust, and some ores I couldn't mine with a stone pick (diamonds, sapphire, peridot & a fossil).  Made an iron pick, one more ore run: 11 Pb, 16 diamonds, 20 Au, 47 Al, 9 sapphire, 5 peridot, 23 Si, 1 miner's delight (with 8 other plants, will make AMbrosia), fossil stuff (1 biofossil, 2 relics, 2 bones).  Killed a skeleton along the way.  Morphed.  Morphed myself back.  (I'd have to reload for the changes in .cfg file to take effect.)  Really enjoy the new interface showing what you're looking at (WAILA mod "What Am I Looking At?") and what mod it's from.

Fossil mod: Fe Relic Fe / Fe Biofossil Fe = Analyzer.  Whatever it is, I made one.  It turned a relic into 2 flint.

I spawned in a half-snowy area with no animals.  Only obvious food source is: get coconut from palm tree, put on ground, hit with sword to make 1-4 coconut chunks, each one heals a half a stick of hunger.  Or harvest direct from tree with sword, instant chunks.  Slim pickings.  Will have to plant some wheat soon.

And then some recipe reading, again it's nice to finally have inventory say what mod things are from, so I can search by mod.  Thermal Expansion has added some engine-like things which produce RF (redstone flux) and Florbs that can hold 1 bucket of liquid and be thrown as projectiles.  Lots of neat new things there.

Break.

Ran to a neighboring island - maple woods - just to get out of the snow for a while.  Dug a new little base into a hilside.  Had some little dude in a suit riding a spider camped out in front all night.  Found sheep & cows on this island, along with some weird things from Darwin mod.  Got 13 coconuts, 2 strawberry seeds, 5 mutton, 2 steaks, 2 pineapples.  Mark a few caves.  Run back to original pit, build a quick cobble building on top -- there's also a generated house about 30 blocks west.  So, I have a few bases to start with.

Break.

Dug a tunnel from my Pit to the House.  Fossil collecting: found a biofossil (analyzer turned it into 3 fern seeds), 3 relics (stone tablet & 12 gravel), skull (I made a skull lantern out of it, hung over front door), some bones.  Stone tablet is very cool - acts like a painting, whole new set of archaeo art to hang on walls!!  Fern seeds can't be planted on regular ground, probably needsto be tilled.

Made a regular Strongbox (new Thermal Expansion items), just chest + 4 tin.  18 slots, I assume it can only be opened by me.  Kinda silly for singleplayer me, but worth checking out.

Funny, looks like OpenBlocks has a piece of Luggage which is a chest that follows you around and picks up dropped items.  Chest + diamond + 7 sticks, fairly cheap.  Shift-rclick to pick it up.  Holy cow, that little guy is cute.  Chomp chomp.

Now, FoodPlus mod adds a Worktop (crafting table, knife, 7 stone/cobble) for making food.  Made one.  Has about 70 recipes, everything from a bowl of rice to candy & ice cream.

Dinner break.

Started a farm, dirt platform over the ocean.  Made a batch of fences to go with it.  Night fell, so I went digging.  2 biofossils (Dilophosaur DNA, 3 bonemeal), 2 relics (6 gravel, 2 flint), 2 fern seeds.  Found some odd bluish stone down deep that quickly changed to normal stone, dropped odd things if hit quickly enough upon exposure, probably something from qCraft.  My WAILA popup info is not appearing anymore.

I'm getting a pretty good variety of seeds from breaking the brownish grass.  Nighttime mining raid with my walking luggage buddy:  ores (9 Pb, 52 Cu, 18 Sn, 35 Au, 36 Ag, 32 Al, 71 Fe), 5 sapphire, 47 RS, 11 Si, no fossils.  Cooked some gold & silver, made 16 Thermal Expansion coils & 5 machine frames for future machines.  Finally, a different icon for charcoal!  That's about all the dead wood trees are good for: early on maybe the wood armor would help, but then it's just charcoal.

Okay, mandrake is freaky ... once in a while when harvesting, I get wicked purple nausea and a screaming sound ... a little mandrake mob appears and runs around like a loon.  Very annoying, but okay, something new.  First enderman kill, standing in my doorway, hack hack.

New Thermal Expansion stuff:
new mob: blizz = ice version of blaze
Cu Pb Cu = 6 opaque fluiducts, HGl instead of Pb for regular ducts
Sn Pb Sn = 6 opaque itemducts, same note
Coal: Sulfur / RS Blz: = 2 Pyrotheum dust
Snowball niter / RS Blizz: = 2 Cryotheum dust

Didn't build any machines yet, kept getting distracted.  Fossils: 1 biofossil (3 bonemeal), 3 relics (2 flint, 6 gravel, 1 stone tablet), 2 frozen meat (+7 attack damage??, mammoth DNA, raw beef), 3 skulls, 2 fern seeds, 1 broken ancient sword.  Book + Dilophosaur/any DNA = Dinopedia.  But darn, can't hold it and rclick to read the darn thing!
