VeeTech2 Pink Void & More Dimlets

That new dimension (Dim 13) is a lot of fun to explore.  I dug a proper set of tunnels and stairways up to the surface.  It's always bright, so no mob spawns up here.  I found a cluster of four dimensional labs, and an occasional berry bush.  I got caught in one lab under a blue slime island as the bouncy guys rained down on me while I was sacking the place.  I saw a lone sakura tree in the void-purple distance, ran over there to find a big patch of Natura raspberry bushes.  So, a source of food.  And a few scattered Harvestcraft fruit trees visible from here.  So I built a little shack called "South Voidland Berry Farm."

The world thinks we're in a Birch Forest Hills biome, and there are stubby hopseed trees every now and then.  I have not seen any animals, but I have passed drops of pork, feathers, rotten flesh & raw chicken.  And inferium for some reason.

I brought a few material absorbers and was able to fill one with coal ore -- it's everywhere.  They would not grab apatite ore or cloud blocks, though.  I used them to deconstruct two labs for blank dimensional blocks.

I finally saw a cave right below the surface thanks to a chunk glitch.  Dug down a few layers and found a cave full of a blue water-like block called "retaW" which breaks very slowly, drops nothing even with silk touch, and can't be picked up in a bucket.  You don't drown in it.  Weird.  The cave had the top 5 or 6 layers full of retaW but below that they were open-air normal caves.  (For some reason, I didn't see that retaW was Water spelled backwards until a few nights later.)

I came home with one whole backpack full of dimensional parts and one backpack full of ores & junk.

Then I finally figured out the dimlet workbench!!  Every available dimlet is listed in the right-hand grey column.  Select one and hover over it to see exactly what you need ... put those parts in the bottom left and you CAN create the dimlet as shown.  I just made a coal ore material dimlet from the material absorber I just filled up.  For my dimensional blank block material absorber, it told me to add a dimlet base part, a control circuit rarity 3, dimlet regular energy module (the blue one that says "ff"), a regular memory unit and a material type controller ... plus the material absorber and yes, I got a dimlet for dimensional blank blocks!

That has been bugging me for years.  Tonight, I was scrolling around that list and saw the popup of the parts that go into making each dimlet.  And the workbench has 36 slots for storing all those parts & pieces.  Nice.

I unpacked my 7 dimlet parcels, sorted all the pieces better, and headed to bed.

I thought I lost my massive Overgrown modpack, but I found it on the gaming computer under the older Twitch folder on my backup drive.  I should try to get that running on MultiMC this holiday weekend.  ;-)

Now that I know more about the crazy dimlets, here's an attempt at guiding a new dimension to something I think I would enjoy exploring: Sky (Stars1), Biome (Stormland), Feature (Maze), Materials (Dimensional Blank Block,Prismarine Bricks).  What do I get?  Maintenance 112 RF/tick, not bad.  I crafted 2 biome absorbers and 3 material absorbers, then a dialing device & matter trasmitter so I can get home.  Dim 14, here goes ...

Its night and the sky is spectacular, with bright nebulae.  Not sure if it's moving at all.  Nope.  Lots of mobs even some blizzes, snowy forest, Haste III.  I quickly built walls around my new base and jetpacked around.  Huge disappointment.  No maze, nothing but one dirt floating island about 200 blocks across.  I tp'd out to 4k north, nothing but void.  Interesting note: first I tried to tp out to 5000 but it said the maximum is 4096.  So these dimensions have a fixed size?

That really sucked.

New attempt: amplified, river, large moon.  Maintenance 12 RF/tick.  Not sure what "tick cost 103 ticks" means.  So, Dim15 says it's a River biome, but it's an endless shallow ocean with small islands full of vanilla mobs.  A good place to get stacks and stacks of clay blocks with my 3x3 mining drill.  I don't think I've seen the daylight since I got here.  Plenty of dimensional labs to raid.  A quick look in spectator mode showed lush cave like little bubbles in the solid stone, so I dug a tunnel down to the nearest one.  For dramatic effect, one of those lush bubbles was on fire from lave hitting the trees.  Looks like normal ores down there.

There was a creeper in one of the labs when I opened the door, and even though I have mob griefing turned off, he did manage to blow the picture frames off the wall.

As an experiment, I teleported out to that 4096 limit, but was able to jetpack out to 4200z.  So maybe different worlds have different world borders.

I came back with a backpack full of dimlets again.

One last attempt for the night: Biome (Birch Forest), biome (Savannah), Material (mossy stone bricks), feature (pyramids), material (hardened iridium glass), feature (Maze).  Maintenance 113 RF/tick.

Well, Dim 16 is a large-scale maze, but it's solid red sandstone ... useless.  There are tiny pyramids of mossy stone bricks and some mobs, including witches, blitzes and fluid cows.  But I don't see any useful resources here.  It's cute how some of the lush caves poke out from the mountains of red sandstone, but there don't appear to be any ores except the ones that spawned around a beehive.

To wrap up the night, I'm headed back to Dim 13, the pink void flat world with all the ores exposed.  Hopped out to 1567z, passing a large patch of almost slightly normal savannah with trees & beehives, and sacked more labs.  Dropped the ores in the machines, and off to bed.
